               Yucatan history dates back since 1000 BC; when the Mayan civilization was born, evolved and finally disappeared swallowed by the jungle; some Mayan cities have been restored, such as Uxmal, Chichen Itza, Mayapan, Ek Balam and others of the Puuc Route. Upon the arrival of the Spaniards in the late 15th century, they found that the Mayan indigenous were disorganized, so it was not hard to submit them; then the Spaniards founded colonial cities, among these Merida, Valladolid and Izamal.
               Between the 16th and 19th centuries Yucatan browse among armed conflicts such as pirate attacks off the coast and indigenous uprisings against the Spaniards; at the same time people of Yucatan produce and export the plant of henequen or sisal, which triggers the growth of the capital city of Merida; during this period the Paseo de Montejo Avenuea is founded with European-style residences also many haciendas are built in the state, where sisal plant is processed.
               Currently, The colonial city of Merida is the most developed city of the southeast of the republic and leader in services, as well as academic and culturally; it has services for all types of travelers, from B&B, authentic boutique hotels and up to luxurious haciendas, as well as restaurants, travel agents and car rental companies, etc.

Location: Yucatan is the name of the peninsula located in the southeast of Mexico. It's Composed by three states, Campeche, Quintana Roo and Yucatan, which gives teh name to the peninsula and its capital is Merida.
